ILM Level 3 Introduction to Leadership

 

Description

This programme is designed so that delegates will be able to:



  • Identify and understand leadership styles

  • Recognise the impact of personal presentation and style

  • Build effective relationships with their team

  • Understand employment laws and diversity issues

  • Manage difficult and challenging behaviour

  • Communicate more effectively with their team, individuals and colleagues.

 

Length of Course

The programme can be delivered to suit the needs of the clients:



  • 1 day a week for 8 weeks

  • 1 day a month for 8 months

 

Who Should Attend

The programme is specifically designed to guide the team leader, or aspiring team leader, on a logical journey of understanding, from self-perception and awareness, through to recognising organisational culture and on to the needs of the team and individuals.


The acquisition of specific leadership skills will enable the delegate to put into practice the new found knowledge and techniques delivered during the course.


The structure of the programme has been carefully balanced to provide an appropriate mix of theoretical and practical content.  The course is biased towards developing the practical leadership skills required to function effectively and efficiently.  


This course is for individuals or for an organisation.

 

Course Content

Incorporating:

  • ILM Management Unit: Introduction to Leadership (M3.10)
  • ILM Management Unit: Building the Team (M3.11)
  • ILM Management Unit: Managing the Employment Relationship (M3.16)

 

Method of Assessment

Each delegate will complete a reflective review of learning outcomes based on the indicative content of the workshops.  The review will allow them the opportunity to carry out a strengths and weakness analysis which can be utilized for future personal development.  (Approx. word count 1,500)
